Riding My Bicycle 100 Miles for a Cure

With my dreams of becoming a marathon runner dashed, I have been looking for a new event to enter.  I need something to shoot for, something to train for.

A friend of mine suggested going in a "century ride."  What is that?  Basically it is what it says it is: you ride your bicycle 100 miles.

On May 3, 2014, I will be reporting to Columbia, SC for the Tour De Cure, to benefit the American Diabetes Association.

Diabetes has affected my family and friends directly and is a terrible disease.  8.3% of the American population has diabetes...and 79 million people are pre-diabetic, meaning the disease is set to explode in the coming years.  Diabetes is a leading cause of blindness, kidney failure and amputations. (source: American Diabetes Association.)

But we can do something about it.  I'll make you a deal: I'll ride the 100 miles on my bicycle and you can donate as little as $5 toward the cause. (Also check with your employer to see if they match charity donations to double your donation.)

Thanks for your support!

  2. Anyone who has weight issues, should try this Weight Loss program . I've tried it some time ago and I got the desired results. Finally I could say that I found something that is real and working. Leave away that programs who will starve you, the ones that will exhaust you by lot of training or the bunch of pills. I've tried it and it worked great for me. I don't how anyone feels, but I'm sick of these programs claiming that you will lose weight overnight or the one based on strict diets or pills.
